Dedication to friends and family..

Hmm..nothing much to write about food these days..or perhaps a good thing I should include something else besides food..as Jimmy is being haunted by my blog..haha..but thanks for reading my blog..Im *touched*...lets hope those fishes dont haunt you again..hehe..

45 Degrees at Summer Garden

Ahh..Been a few days Im away from my blog..Dont have time for blogs during weekends..hehe..
well..last week on Saturday, dinner was at Summer Garden, located at Lembah Permai,Tanjung Bungah, for those coming from vale of tempe, its on the second turning on the left, the restaurant is located just around the corner..you wont miss it..for my friends, its on the turning of entering Jade's old house..=)

Let me introduce a few of the food we had there..Mum ordered a Ceasar Salad for dinner and Carrot Soup for appertizers,Although you may say that salad is not enough for dinner, it is actually filling, cause there is chunks of chicken meat in the salad, and the Carrot Soup comes with garlic bread as well. One thing about the carrot soup..it has a touch of lemon flavour when you taste it..(before that, I was wondering what kinda taste is that..? Cause its yellow in colour!) hehe..
Apart from that, mum ordered a cup of cuppacino as well, It looks really nice..! MmmMmm..

As for me and my friend Jacquelyn,we ordered a plate of Fish and Chips, which cost not more than RM 18,the fish batter is crispy, something different from normal western food fish and chips, but one thing about the chips, I dont like it,cause its like a cheap cost chips..haha..if you get what I mean..

Then my dear ordered a plate of BBQ Chicken, to me..this is one of the best dishes served at Summer Garden, the whole part of the drumstick is served to you, and the BBQ sauce taste so good, sweet and tasty..hehe..I can say you will have a good meal if you order this..and it cost only RM 22..

As for my uncle, I cant really remember what he had, cause his was served the last among all,and I was busy eating AGAIN to take any pictures..hehe..think he had pork, and it looks good to me..hehe..

Actually the pricing in the menu, is a little funny or rather weird, cause there is a grilled lamb chops which cost only RM 28, and the BBQ chicken cost RM 22, just RM 6 difference..Isnt lamb suppose to be much more expensive..? They do serve other types of lamb, such as Lamb Shank, which cost around RM 40++,isnt there a big difference?

But for those who doesnt like Western Food..they do serve something else..which is Japanese Food, they have Unagi with rice, Nabeyaki Soba/Udon and a few more japanese dishes,or perhaps if you feel like having something light, the Summer Garden Sandwich is good too, served in small pieces with, turkey ham, cheese and vegetables..As for desserts, you should try the cakes, something different from other cake sellers, such as Kahlua With Ice Cream Cake,Tolberone(did I spell it right? haha) Chocolate Cheese Cake(this is the best) and Horlicks Cake..

The place is decorated with a jungle/forest feeling,on the outside of the restaurant, you cant see lots of plants around, its actually nice, but as long its free from insects(UGH!)..During the night, its actually kinda romantic to have dinner for couples..ooOoo..

Thank You! Praise the Lord..

Ahh..actually I wanted to post this before the KoFu Loft thingy..haha..Anyway..just wanted to say thanks to the Lord for answering my prayers yesterday..hehe..well..what did i ask for..? Thats a secret..=) So for those who never believe in God, you Should try praying and asking Him for guidance..He really did help me..and made yesterday one of the best for me..

And another two person would be my friends, Connie and Khai Sin, thanks to them for hearing me out the other day..hehe..although I dont think they read my blog..haha..its ok..this post is to thank them..and of course..Mr Jonathan as well..thanks for the encouragement all this while..always ask me to "smile..smile.." haha..now Im Smiling..thanks alot..keep following my blog aite..hehe..thanks for those comments and support on my blog..

Ko-Fu Loft

Yesterday night..dinner was at Ko-Fu Loft, located in Gurney Plaza on the fourth floor of the old wing..for those who had been to The loft previously..should know where its located..The price of the food is reasonable for a restaurant..in total..we only spent around Rm 93..The food they serve reminds me of Sesame at G Hotel and Xuan Xin restaurant at the New Wing in Gurney Plaza as well..Im not gonna write anything about that..although I've been there before because personally I dont really like the food there..but for those who like to know more..refer to my friend's blog (evonlai9966.blogspot.com)..=)

Now..lets talk about the food..Actually you can find varieties of food in the menu..but mainly..its all Chinese food..they have dim sum too..and wide range of choices as well..but me and my family felt like having rice..so..no dim sum for us..haha..but please..do try out..the dim sum if possible..seriously looks good..

So..we had rice with a few dishes instead..sort of a "Chu Char" style..The first dish we ordered was the Oriental Stir Fried Apple Chicken..I must say this is the best among all the dishes we ordered..the aroma of the chicken is so tempting..and it goes well with the chicken..its the first time I had something like this..and when the chicken is served..it looks exactly like how its shown on the menu..*applause* for that..hehe

Next we ordered a Stir Fried Beef with Onion..hmm..looks good..but taste quite normal to me..still prefer the one served in G Hotel..because this one..the beef is not that tender..but its still chewable and edible of course..but one thing..the beef is not cut into pieces..its all joined up..and we gotta cut them ourselves..haha..but still..i can say overall..the beef was not bad..

For vergetables..we had Tofu cooked with Needle/Straw Mushrooms and carrots..this mushroom is one of my mum's favourites =)..again..this is a normal dish to me..but its taste good..well..at least its tender..haha..of course it is..its tofu..and another one is Water Convovulus(Eng Chai) Sambal Style..this is a common dish..but compare to other places..the sambal is delicious..really goes well with the vege and rice..but I didnt take a picture of this..cause it was a dish we ordered later on..and Im busy eating..hehe..

Then my mum ordered two bowls of soup..Its actually for one person per serving..but we share it instead..First one is the Water Crest(Sayong Chai) with dates soup, this one is my uncle's favourite, and the other one is the Old Cucumber Soup, which is good for cooling the body..and its more than enough to share among four people..

For desserts, there are many choices..there's Chendol, Ice Kachang and many more..but we ordered the Jumbo Mango, which is also enough to share among four..So dont be greedy while ordering..hehe..lucky I wasnt greedy..else we cant finish it..erm..this dessert actually reminds me of Kim Gary's Snow dessert..but this one..is only serve with mango compare to Kim Gary's they have more choices there..thou its not as good at the one in Kim Gary, this one is not bad too..as they put milk in the ice..and at least its not tasteless, and its nice when you eat it with the mangoes..hehe..

So,my friends,go try it out..previously when it was The Loft,I wouldnt recommend you to go..but this time..the food is different..taste even Better too..!! thats the major difference..=) I wouldnt have tried it if it wasnt for my Mum, cause I came across the advertisement in Gurney many times, but never bother to try it out..but..I guess..no regrets..glad I finally tried it..

And also for those who would prefer to have individual meals instead of sharing..you can order fried rice..they also have noodles like those "wan tan mee" style and also porridge as well..

A Touch Of Nyonya Breeze

For tonight's dinner..we had nyonya food..been a week or two since we last had nyonya food..We went to Nyonya Breeze which is located at Lorong Abu SIti Lane,Penang,if looking from the direction of the shop..its just opposite Red Rock Hotel..Their food is good..and if you go on Saturday..it will be packed and crowded with people..Okay..for now..let me introduce the dishes served at Nyonya Breeze..

For appertizer,we had Crispy Basil Leaves-Basil Leaves deep fried in a delicate, crispy batter and served with suitably delicious dipping sauce..

We also ordered a plate of Inche Kabin which is deep fried chicken served with prawn crackers and a dipping sauce of "ang mo tau eu"(american soy sauce)..to me..this is one of the best dishes at Nyonya Breeze..The taste of the chicken goes so well with the soy sauce..and the skin of the chicken is soooo crispy..Mmm..

Next we ordered Egg Belanda-fried eggs cooked with nyonya style sweet and sour sauce..Its one of my Uncle's favourite dishes..and there is also "tau eu bak" which is Pork belly cooked with thick soy sauce and beancurd..

Also we had "Huan Chu Heok" (Sweet Potato Leaves) stir fried with sambal..For those who doesnt like sambal..they can try it in a different style which is prepared using coconut milk (lemak style)..

If any of you prefer something else..then try also the "Sambal Keow" (Eggplant with Sambal), or "Kari Kay" (Curry Chicken)..

However..there are a few disadvantages of the shop, cause its hard to find parking space on certain days cause its limited..as for the food..not all the dishes are served daily..but most of them..are served on weekends..So try it out if any of you is thinking of having Nyonya Cuisine..

Aji Noren

Dinner yesterday night was at Aji Noren..Its located at Prima Tanjung,Tg Tokong,Penang..Though I've been there for years..Its the first time I took pictures of their food..I must say..their japanese food is different from other japanese restaurants..cause they serve a la carte dishes which is unique..for example..the giant squid..cheese oyster..there's even friend bean sprout (taugeh)..And the owner and waitress there are all friendly..especially Alicia and Wendy..

What we had last night..was a simple meal..I ordered Bifu Suteki which is actually Beef Steak..It tasted sweet and sour..but..I didnt take any pictures of it..cause I dont really like it compare to the other dish that I recently tried out which is the Saikoro Steak, the sauce is different..but I have no idea what sauce is that..cause they called it the special sauce..

Then my uncle had Tonkatsu which is deep fried pork, they also have beef katsu for those who doesnt like pork..It comes with a sweet and sour japanese sauce..He ordered a fried Chinese Glass Noodles(mee sua) with egg as well..which is suppose to come with tuna instead of egg..haha..well..he like it this way..however I did not take any pictures for that too..cause it was too hot..and the smoke makes the picture blurry..

Finally..my bf had Chicken Teriyaki..with vegetables called "poay leng" in hokkien..It is cooked with butter and the chicken teriyaki is tender..It comes in set actually..which includes a bowl of rice,a miso soup, two slices of watermelon, white cabbage with thousand island sauce and a small plate of pickles..its actually worth..as some of the set cause less than rm20..

You can also try out the Chiki-Ban Ban which is actually deep fried chicken with mayonaise..its really nice..thou its a little oily..Another dish would be the Tonkatsu Ramen..which has "Char Siew" in it..and the soup taste great..honest..! For further enquiries..ask me..=)

Dinner at SS

Last night I went with my mum, uncle, brother and my dear for dinner at SS (Sesame Soy,not Slippery Senioritas ya..) at G Hotel Penang which is located on the first floor..Its the first time my brother joined us..SS is divided in two sections..One is Soy which serves fushion style food..and the other is Sesame which serves Chinese Cuisine, which is what we call "Chu Char" in Hokkien, But this is a high class style of "Chu Char"..but BEAR IN MIND, ITS WORTH IT..Its ambiance is cozy and cooling..Lightings are dim and if you plan to have a romantic dinner with chinese delicacies..its actually quite suitable..Actually I've been there many a time..But never thought about taking any pictures..but somehow..manage to capture those pictures last night before mum took a bite..as she was hungry..haha..sorry Mum..I knew she was really hungry..

Anyway..Let me tell you more about those dishes..The first one would be the Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab with garlic..The taste of the crabs are fresh..with a touch of a green sauce..haha..not quite sure thou what sauce is that..but I will find out about it..but dont you think..its nicely decorated?

Now..this second one..is the ultimate one..Tender Hainanese Beef Steak..Yum..Im drooling while thinking about it..Its so tender..and for those who visit Sesame should try this out..It tasted a little sweet and a touch of soury taste..The meat is juicy and it goes well with the white rice..and the smell is so tempting..that you cant resist having it as your first dish compare to others..are you tempted? Hehe..

The third dish would be the Deep Fried Prawns in Salted Egg Puree..This is also one of my favourite dishes..Through its name, you can tell its salty..but it has also a touch of sweetness to it..I guess..they added sugar to it..are you wondering how it taste like..? Do not..just try it..believe me..its good too..

Okay..now..the next one..would be the Snake Beans with Beef Bacon..Yum..It tasted almost like Long Beans..but this is slightly different..The skin of the beans are rough compare to long beans which smoother..The Snake Beans are stir-fried with the beef bacon..and goes well together..as the beans are soft..while the bacons are tender..Mmmm..Its the first time I tasted that dish..as normally we will order the Hunan Style Fresh Beans with minced chicken..that is a little spicy..but still..both taste good..

Alright..the fifth dish..is the Roasted Spring Chicken..Yeah it looks like the normal chicken where you can get it at normal chicken rice stall..BUT this is DIFFERENT..its not oily..and its soft and delicate..A dish that I would recommend for those who like Roasted Chicken..

Ahh..now..this dish..is a new one to me..Cant really recall the name but its Stir Fried Brinjals with shrimps and anchovies..and I would say..its really nice..the brinjals are soft and it tasted a little spicy and salty..and the anchovies are crispy..Mmm..Im getting hungry..

Okay..now we are reaching the seventh dish and also final one..You are probably wondering what is that white package thing..its actually Baked White Tuna with Herbs wrapped in the package..It cost only RM20 per plate..Cheap isnt it..? Normally White Tuna will cost around RM30-40..The white tuna is baked to its perfection..as it is soft..and it does not smell fishy..For those who doesnt like fish..should try this..as they will learn to like it after having it..

There..! Im done..Looks good isnt it..? The pricing is actually reasonable..we ordered seven dishes..and it cost us less than RM 150, including a pot of Chinese Tea..which goes well with our dinner..So, my dear friends, do try it out..It would be an exciting experience..

No Food, No Life..

Ugh..yeah yeah..I know I have neglected my blog again..Haha..Well..What can I say..I've been lazy..Surprisingly..I found out my friend has a blog too..Evon that is..let me promote her blog..hehe..evonlai9966.blogspot.com..feel free to visit her blog..lots of things to read about food..=)

Okay..now back to my blog..Lately I have visited many places for dinner..thou most of the places I have been there before..but never take the effort to take any pictures of food or the ambiance..Two months ago..I went to 32 Mansion..Had the beef cutlet..that I love the most..hehe..but I was too hungry to even take any picture of the food..while my uncle had the king prawn spaghetti..which is a large portion..but tasted good..as for my dear..I think he had beef too..haha..Im not sure..=p..but I did take some pictures of the place..and of me and my boyfriend..

Another place that I would like to comment on..would be Ferringhi Garden..Hmm..I went there once before..bout a year ago..the food was not bad..but to my disappointment..I went last week..and the food..was bad..Sorry, just being honest..and its expensive too..I think I rather go to Peppinos in Golden Sands instead..Hmm..So..my review..would be..Just two stars I guess..two stars for the ambiance..thats it..sorry for being mean..!

Now finally..!! There is a place to really recommend..! Hard Rock Cafe at Hard Rock Hotel Penang..Yes the food is worth it..definitely..! Especially the Chocolate Fudge Brownies is a must have..anyone who goes there..should try it..Imagine my uncle love it that much he can even just have it for lunch..and nothing else..and the Salmon Steak was good..the portion size..is just nice..So..guys..go try it..believe me..As for Snacks..go for the tortilla chips..Chew away while listening to rock and roll songs..! You can try also Chicken/Beef Fajitas, They are really good..bt NOT as good as the one in KL..Cause the vegetables are not well done..and its hard to chew..but still..I would recommend you guys to go. Sorry guys..no pictures thou..I've only been there twice since its opening..Will get some updates soon..! Stay tune..!
